Chef Fran Bowman
The Traveling Gourmet Personal Chef Service
Fran currently lives in Forest Hill, Maryland with her daughter and her
family. She grew up in the Midwest, has lived on the West coast and
gradually made her way to the East coast.
Until her three children were grown, Fran was a stay at home mom. After the
kids all left the nest she found herself divorced and looking toward her
future. She had various jobs and also spent a couple of years going to
school to become a court reporter, which allowed her to strictly survive,
but never cared for any of them. Over time she had three sets of grandkids
in three states and she lived in another one. In 1995 she moved in with her
daughter and has been there since then. Her oldest granddaughter just
turned 12. When she becomes a teenager, grandma Fran may be moving out!
With kids all over the country, Fran wanted the flexibility to travel
several times a year to see her family and didn't want to get tied to a 40
hour a week job. One of the career paths she chose was to become a Pampered
Chef Consultant. She always liked to cook, but after collecting all the new
cooking tools, she really started to experiment with new recipes and ideas.
Her newfound consulting job ignited her joy of cooking and it quickly
became a passion in her life.
Finally, about three years ago and approaching 60, it was time to find a
career she really enjoyed. After searching the internet for ideas relating
to cooking, Fran discovered the Personal Chef business. This seemed to be
exactly what she was looking for and a way for her to put her passion to
work. She was one of the first members to join Personal Chefs Network and
she has found it to be an amazing organization. "I couldn't be happier with
all the support and guidance it has provided. After 60 years I am finally
doing something I love along with the flexibility it provides."
Fran attended the Personal Chefs Network annual convention in Boston and
looks forward to the next one. "I can't wait to see all the new friends I
made in Boston and it was a wonderful experience to finally meet Sharon and
Wendy. They have inspired me over the years and I left the convention ready
to use my newfound information.”
