*********
In July of 1999 I founded
"Eating In - A Personal Chef Service" to serve folks in
the Winston-Salem area. It took about six months to get the business
up and running with paying clients. In March of 2000, it was
featured in the Davie County Enterprise Record and also "What's New
in Business" in the Winston-Salem Journal. Eating In was also
featured on the local ABC affiliate and later as a feature article in the
Food Section of the Winston-Salem Journal.
I began the business based on
my love of cooking. In 1977 I graduated with a Food Science degree
from N. C. State University and was then hired by RJR Foods in
Winston-Salem where I worked in the areas of Sensory Evaluation,
Microbiological and Quality Assurance Testing of food products. In
1980 I moved to RJR Tobacco working as a Sensory Analyst for 5 years and
then as a New Product Development Scientist and Brand Manager until 1994.
At that time I decided to leave the corporate world and stay home as
a full-time Mom. During this period, I pursued my love of cooking
becoming a self-taught chef and experimenting with all types of recipes
including raising my own vegetables and herbs. When my youngest
child was in first grade it was time to pursue that passion and becoming a
personal chef was the career I chose.
Currently I serve as
"Head Chef" of the North Carolina Chapter of PCN and am also a
member of the Davie County Chamber of Commerce. I am married and have
three children.
I also have a degree in
Behavioral Science from High Point University.
