2003 Convention in
Boston
We had a fantastic conclusion to
our convention in Boston, MA at the Personal Chefs Network Golden Whisk
Awards Breakfast! We are honored to host this annual event at PCN and are
thankful for each member that was able to attend personally. These awards
were voted on by your colleagues at PCN and the Network Advisory Council. We
are proud that we have such outstanding people at PCN, and each of our
winners should be especially proud to have been selected by their peers!
Each winner received a beautiful plaque with their engraved name and award
name complete with a golden whisk and a small Lodge iron skillet attached.
Additionally, the top award winners received gifts from select vendors in the
culinary industry.

And the awards go to....

Personal Chef TERRI BROWN
Terrific Temptation/San Antonio, TX
Terri inspired many PCN members this year as she suggested we participate as
a group in the COOK FOR THE CURE Project! This project has garnered PR for
many of those who participated, and press releases will be done soon from
Personal Chefs Network as this project is wrapped up. The final count is not
yet in, but our members raised in the neighborhood of $4000-$5000 for Cook
For The Cure, all because TERRI took the idea, threw it out there, and
coordinated the entire project. We plan to make this an annual event at PCN,
and we thank Terri for all her efforts and hard work during our first year of
participation. If you participated and have not yet sent out YOUR releases,
what are you waiting for???
*BEST MARKETING MATERIALS*
We had lots of beautiful marketing materials that were displayed during the
convention. The competition was STIFF! Thank you for those of you that
entered, especially those of you that entered that weren't able to attend.
Everyone bound their materials for display and the winner by majority vote
was...
Personal Chef MAGGI SMITH
The Kitchen Genie/Pasadena, MD
We were all inspired by Maggi's materials AND the fact that she also works
FULL TIME while maintaining NINE cheffing dates per month (even though no one
where she works has any idea!)

since joining us... "If anyone had told me a year ago that I would
have my own business, and could make it thrive, I would never have believed
them! If I can do it..ANYONE can! I can't believe how drastically my life has
changed for the better, and can not thank PCN enough!!!"

participation in our membership forums, has an up to date webpage, active in
local area gatherings, has completed at least one year of membership at
Personal Chefs Network, and has a long list of satisfied clients with a
waiting list. Additionally, this year’s winner was one of our very first
members (she waiting for our materials to be printed) at PCN and has been
more than willing to help us with inquires to newbies for membership to PCN.
She is diligent in helping new personal chefs, supports PCN through her
Network Advisory Council work, chat hosting, forum posting, and recipe
sharing, but mostly for her promotion of our industry through her visible
work in the Houston area. It is also remarkable that she has put her
successful pc business together while attending culinary school and working
at all her other food related endeavors as well as being a good wife and
mother.
