My Italian heritage consists of cooks who took great pride in their ability to pass along culinary traditions from generation to generation. I am proud of this lineage and to be a "home schooled" Italian chef. Sunday mornings consisted of a pot of "gravy" on the stove and some homemade pasta in the works. At a young age, my job was to line up the gnocchi as my mom tossed them across the table. When I was old enough, she taught me how to do the tossing. I would complain that I wanted to go out and play, but first had to help. Now I am thankful for what I thought at the time was food torture! My career path as a Personal Chef began on September 18, 2001. I was furloughed from my job in the travel industry after thirteen years. After the initial shock of losing my job and also the turmoil consuming the country, I began researching my next career move. Cooking was something very near and dear to my heart and I decided to follow my passion. I stumbled across the Personal Chef Industry and did my research. On October 15, 2001 the next page on my life was turned. I named my business Cook-A-Doodle-Doo Personal Chef Service, www.cookadoodledoo.com and got the ball rolling. I have seen the level of my food cuisine & nutritional knowledge skyrocket, along with my client base. In 2007, a big milestone was securing my first professional athlete. I am very involved with many charities, but the National MS Society is my passion. My sister was diagnosed with MS in 2001 and me shortly thereafter. The disease has not kept me down and this allows me to raise money and awareness. My sister has not been as fortunate and is progressively getting worse and worse. In 2007, I organized a team Walk-A-Doodle-Doo, www.walkadoodledoo.org which participates in the annual 30 Mile MS Challenge Walk. To date, the team has raised over $15,000 with a goal of $30,000 for the 2008 walk. I want to thank all of you for your support both professionally and personally. Without the PCN family and my "home schooled" education, I would not be where I am today! |
