Host: Chef Sarah R. Labensky, CCP
Sarah Labensky is Founding Director of the Culinary Arts Institute
at Mississippi University for Women, where she teaches cooking and
administers MUW’s four-year baccalaureate degree program in culinary
arts. She is also the co-author of seven culinary reference and
textbooks, including The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Cooking
Techniques and Science, the best-selling culinary textbook, On
Cooking: A Textbook of Culinary Fundamentals, which was nominated for
an IACP/ Julia Child Cookbook award, and Webster’s New World
Dictionary of Culinary Arts, which was nominated for a James Beard
Foundation Book Award.
She is a member of the American Culinary Federation, Les Dames
d’Escoffier and the International Association of Culinary
Professionals. Sarah has served on the IACP Board of Directors for
four years and is currently Secretary/Treasurer. Sarah graduated from
high school with PCN Co-Founder, Sharon Worster.
